This CEFR cycle presents an authentic action-oriented task in which students explore sports and activities they enjoy while learning to communicate clearly in French.
Through video viewing, reading, interaction, and guided planning, students learn to talk about their interests and explain how to do one simple part of an activity.
Through a structured progression (oral → reading → interaction → production), students develop their listening and speaking skills while building confidence in expressing personal interests.
The cycle includes:
- a listening activity based on a video with three guided viewings
- differentiated A1 and A2 reading texts with comprehension questions
- model dialogues to support oral interaction
- guided planning using sentence frames and visual supports
- a final task where students create and record a short video in which they introduce their activity and demonstrate a simple movement, gesture, or action
This resource aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) and uses scaffolded, oral-first strategies to support language development, including modelling, repetition, and structured interaction.
Students act as social agents by using French to communicate about their interests and explain how to do a sport or activity through simple demonstration.
This cycle can be adapted to meet the needs of different learners and classroom contexts.
